A Farm Management Deposit (FMD) is an important cash flow management tool that enables individuals carrying on a primary production business in Australia (primary producers) to set aside pre-tax income from their profitable years and earn interest on it – so the money’s available when they most need it.

Eligibility

Customer must be a primary producer with an off-farm taxable income of less than $100,000 per annum.
Residency status — Australian ResidencyOnly available to Australian primary producers.
Can only be opened in the name of an individual.
Subject to farm management deposit scheme eligibility guidelines.

Constraints

Opening balance — $5,000.00
Maximum balance — $800,000.00The total of all FMD’s held in a client’s name must not exceed $800,000.00
