- **Maximum age** — 29 years (On a SmartStart accountholder's 30th birthday, the account funds and facilities are transferred to an Everyday Account and an interest bearing account)
- **Employment status** — Employed (The SmartStart account is limited to accountholders who are 18 to 29 years old in the workforce. The bonus interest is only paid where a minimum payroll credit of $1500 is electronically deposited to the Member's smartSTART Account each month)
- **Residency status** — AU (Individuals must be citizens or permanent residents of Australia.)
