# Privacy

> What CDR Compare collects, what it does not, and how to make a request.

## The short version

CDR Compare has no accounts, no sign-up, no login and no personal data about you. There is nothing to log in to and nothing to delete. You can browse and compare every product without identifying yourself in any way.

## What is not collected

The site never asks for, and has no way to receive, your name, contact details, income, financial position, account numbers or banking credentials. It is a read-only view of product data that providers publish publicly — it does not connect to anyone's bank accounts and it is not an accredited data recipient under the Consumer Data Right. When you apply for a product you leave the site entirely and deal with the provider directly under that provider's own privacy policy.

## What is collected

Aggregate, product-analytics events (pages viewed, which filters and compare actions are used) via PostHog, routed through a first-party path on this domain so the requests are not sent to a third-party host from your browser. These events are used only to understand which parts of the tool are useful. No advertising or cross-site tracking networks are used, and nothing is sold or shared for marketing.

## Cookies and local storage

The site sets no advertising or tracking cookies. Your light/dark theme preference and your current compare selection are stored in your own browser's local storage, on your device. The theme preference never leaves your browser. Clearing your browser storage removes both.

## The "recently compared" list

When a comparison is opened, the products in it are recorded so the home page can show what has recently been compared. What is stored is the list of products — a provider and product identifier — and nothing else: no account, no device or browser identifier, no IP address, and no timestamp beyond the order entries arrive in. There is no way to tell from it who opened a comparison, or to link two entries to the same person.

The list keeps only the twenty most recent comparisons, records the same combination at most once an hour, and is read on an hourly delay — so it is a picture of what the site is used for, not a live feed of what anyone is doing right now.

## Product data

Product information is fetched from each data holder's public Product Reference Data API, discovered through the CDR Register, and cached briefly. Those requests are made server-side, so your browser never contacts the providers and providers receive no information about you from this site.

## Requests and questions

Privacy questions or requests about this site can be raised with Fiskil, which builds and maintains it, via [Fiskil's contact form](https://fiskil.com/contact).
